Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Jorge was born and raised in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Jorge obtained his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Yucatan (UADY) in Mexico, a Masters in Clinical Neuroscience by the Institute of Neurology, University College London (UCL) in the United Kingdom (UK) under the supervision of Dr Ivana Bjedov and Prof Dame Linda Partridge, and his PhD in Genetics, Neuroscience and Biogerontology from the UCL Institute of Healthy Ageing under the supervision of Prof Dame Linda Partridge and Prof John Hardy. He joined the Blackwell Lab in 2016 and his research involves understanding how stress response pathways and metabolism intersect to regulate the aging process and give rise to age-related diseases. His current work has been supported by the American Federation for Aging Research/Glenn Foundation for Medical Research Postdoctoral Fellowship in Aging Research (PD18019).
